Small cell lung cancer – It usually begins in the middle of the lungs and spreads more quickly. It mostly occurs almost exclusively in heavy smokers and is less common than non-small lung cancer. It accounts for around 15%.

Factors that can increase your risk of lung cancer include –

  • Personal history of lung cancer
  • Exposure to asbestos and other carcinogens

There is no surety that lung cancer can be totally cured, but to reduce the risk you can –

  • stop smoking
  • Avoid second-hand smoking
  • Avoid carcinogens
  • Eat a diet full of fruits and vegetables
  • Exercise daily
