Gulmarg: The City Of Souls; How to get there

Gulmarg is the “heartland of winter sports in India,” according to CNN, and it is Asia’s sixth greatest ski resort. The town is reached by road from Srinagar through Tangmarg. In the remaining 12 kilometers to Gulmarg, the route climbs steeply through pine and fir forests. Winter activities like skiing, tobogganing, snowboarding, and heli-skiing take place on the slopes of Mount Apharwat, which may be reached via a Gondola lift. The World’s largest igloo café debuted in Gulmarg in February 2022. It has a height of 37.5 feet and a diameter of 44.5 feet. At any given moment, around 40 people can dine there(via @wikipedia).

Gulmarg is in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and is accessible by road from both Jammu and Srinagar. Jammu is well connected by air, road, and train to all major cities.

Srinagar Airport is the closest to Gulmarg. It is approximately 56 kilometers from Gulmarg. Taxis and Jeeps are available outside the airport to transport you to your destination. On a daily basis, the airport is well connected with all of the main domestic airports.

TRANSPORTATION BY TRAIN

Jammu Tawi railway station is approximately 290 kilometers away. This railway station connects to all domestic railheads. To get to Gulmarg from the station, use a cab or a bus.

Gulmarg is connected to major cities by the national route 1-A, which has decent road connectivity. State-owned buses and private premium buses are usually available for guests.
