The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET (UG), is an all-India pre-medical entrance test for students who wish to pursue undergraduate medical (MBBS), dental (BDS), and AYUSH (BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, etc.) courses in government and private institutions in India and also, for those intending to pursue primary medical qualification abroad.

Shantanu Dalai, a resident of Polasara block of Ganjam district has secured an all-India rank of 19,678 in NEET.
Ishrita Panda, a resident of Adava village in Gajapati district has secured an All India rank of 11,895 by securing 622 marks out of 720.
His father sells vegetables in the Adawa market. Ishrita Panda said she has worked hard for it and is happy with her marks. She hopes to get a seat in a premier government medical college in Cuttack or Berhampur. Her father also said that he did not neglect the study of his daughter despite the loss of his business in the last two years due to COVID-19.
Shantanu Dalai has taken free coaching in a private institute named ‘Aryabhatta’ run by educationist Sudhir Raut. Sudhir Raut said that his institute provided free coaching to some poor students over the past few years and arranged funds for their admission.
